Jakub Łukasz Syrkowski
Jakub Łukasz Syrkowski (born 1993) – painter, set designer, and director of documentary films. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, where he studied painting and set design under the supervision of Prof. Zdzisław Nitka and Prof. Paweł Jarodzki.
He creates expressive paintings that balance between deformation and color, portrait and landscape. Inspired by expressionism and abstraction, he explores the boundaries of nature and its representations. His works have been exhibited, among others, at BWA Wrocław, the Silesian Museum, and the Theatre Museum.
As a set designer, he has collaborated with the Studio Theatre in Warsaw, the Old Theatre in Kraków, Capitolu, and the Polish Theatre in Wrocław. His film "Ordinary Horizon, Mental Horizon" won the Jury Award at the Best Diplomas ASP 2019 competition and is part of the collection of the Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts.
He is a member of the Areszt Sztuki and the Blur Association. He lives and works in Olsztyn.
